Compliance & safety

IFRA-aware practices, labeling basics, and stability notes.

Module: Docs
Material literacy

From citrus lift to resin depth with measurable intent.

Lab: Accords
Mentored critique

Structured feedback that improves iterations quickly.

Office hours

Courses that map cleanly to outcomes

Choose by starting point: first formula, stronger structure, signature style, or professional workflow. No fluff; every lesson ends with a tangible deliverable.

Track 01: Foundation Formulation

Build your first stable eau de parfum: balance, dilution, top-to-base structure, and evaluation notes.

Accords 101 Evaluation protocol Iteration schedule

Track 02: Accord Architecture

Design dependable building blocks: musks, woods, ambers, florals, and modern clean facets.

Accord library Contrast design Reformulation drills

Track 03: Signature Direction

Develop a recognizable identity: constraints, narrative, and sensory continuity across a mini-collection.

Brief writing Style constraints Critique framework

A method designed for retention and repeatability

We use short lessons, clear rubrics, and lab cadence to turn “I like it” into measurable formulation decisions.

What you practice

  • Accord design — build, test, and version your blocks.
  • Structure — top/heart/base with controlled transitions.
  • Dilution strategy — evaluate at multiple concentrations.
  • Documentation — keep formula notes you can reuse.

How feedback works

  • Rubric-based critique — clarity, diffusion, balance, longevity.
  • Iteration prompts — precise, small changes with rationale.
  • Library building — save what works as reusable assets.
  • Progress tracking — see your decisions become consistent.
Tip: Enable High Contrast for maximum legibility.

FAQ (high-signal answers)

Do I need a lab?

No dedicated lab required. We focus on safe, small-scale methods and clean documentation. If you have materials, we’ll teach you how to organize them efficiently.

Is it beginner friendly?

Yes. Track 01 assumes no prior formula work. If you already build accords, Track 02 accelerates structural mastery.

What will I finish with?

At minimum: a functional formula, an accord library, evaluation notes, and an iteration history you can reuse. Signature track ends with a mini-collection direction.

Still unsure? Use the course fit quiz for a recommendation.

Course comparison

Pick based on your current skills and target outcome.

Foundation Formulation

Best if you want a complete first perfume with stable structure and reliable evaluation.

Accord Architecture

Best if you need a reusable accord library and stronger compositional control.

Signature Direction

Best if you want a clear identity across multiple formulas and a consistent style.

Professional Workflow

Best if you want a capstone workflow: briefs, iteration logs, presentation-ready notes.

Materials glossary (sample)

Text-first micro-glossary used inside lessons.

Top notes

High volatility. Use to define the first 5–15 minutes; design for clean fade, not abrupt loss.

Heart notes

Identity and continuity. Often where your “signature” lives.

Base notes

Fixation and residual profile. Avoid “mud” by controlling density and sweetness.

Diffusion

How the scent projects into air. Manipulated via materials, dose, and contrast.

Sample lesson (excerpt)

How we turn sensory feedback into formulation steps.

Exercise: Balance vs. contrast

Write two short evaluations at 10% dilution: one describing balance (what feels “even”), one describing contrast (what changes over time).

Iteration prompt

If the opening is loud but the heart collapses: reduce top boosters by 10–20%, then increase mid-body support with a cohesive bridge material. Re-evaluate after 24h rest.
